Miss 1% of Code, AI Fills the Blank with Hallucinations
📖 Series Navigation — This post is part of the AI context isolation series. For the complete guide and 30-second sync setup, see How to Sync AI Context Between Cursor and Claude Code, or browse the topic hub.
I’m Yang Qing, an architect with 10 years of big tech experience turned solopreneur. I deconstruct business from a technical perspective to help you avoid common pitfalls.
The content I share covers: boosting efficiency with AI tools, taking independent products global, and solopreneurship methodologies.
A high-voted post on Hacker News reveals a brutal truth:
“Absolute context is non-negotiable. You must provide 99% of relevant code in context. If you miss even a tiny bit, the model doesn’t know the boundaries, and it will fill the blank with hallucinations. This is a major source of errors.”
Miss 1%, and AI starts hallucinating.

This is a core defect of AI coding tools.
01 Miss 1%, AI Starts Hallucinating
You may have encountered this situation:
You ask AI: “What does this code do?”
It confidently explains everything.
Then you realize, everything it said was wrong.
Why? Because it never saw the real code.
It only saw the part you pasted, and “guessed” the rest.
And guessing is the beginning of hallucination.
02 Context Retrieval is Mediocre at Best
Another developer put it more bluntly:
“Every AI coding tool has search problems. Claude uses grep. Cursor does basic vector search. Context retrieval? Honestly, very mediocre… AI tools lack true semantic code understanding.”
Context retrieval is mediocre at best.
Think about it, how ironic this is.
The core capability of AI coding tools is “understanding code,” but their context retrieval capability is “very mediocre.”
The result:
You ask it a question about project architecture, and it gives you a wrong answer.
Not because it’s not smart, but because it never saw the relevant code.
03 Frequent Hallucinations, Wrong Answers
Even more painful is another description:
“When using Cursor, asking general questions - like ‘where does the code do X’ or ‘how should I implement Y’ - it frequently hallucinates or gives me wrong answers.”
Frequent hallucinations, wrong answers.
You think AI is helping you?
Actually, AI is “guessing.”
And the cost of guessing wrong is the time you spend verifying, debugging, and correcting.
Time not saved, but more trouble added.
04 Two Memory Defects of AI Coding Agents
So why does this happen?
The core problem is: AI coding agents have two memory defects.

Defect 1: Long conversations get compressed.
In the same session, decisions made two hours ago are already forgotten by AI.
Context silently disappears, and you don’t even notice.
Defect 2: Memory is locked to a single tool/device.
Switching from Claude Code to Cursor, or from work computer to home computer, everything resets to zero.
All the architecture, preferences, and decisions you explained before are lost.
05 ContextSync: Ensure Complete Context
Is there a solution to this problem?
Yes.

ContextSync’s core function is to solve this problem:
Ensure AI always has complete context.
Your architecture decisions, code style, project preferences, automatically synced to all tools.
You switch a computer, memory follows.
You switch a tool, context seamlessly migrates.
AI no longer “guesses,” but truly “knows.”
No more hallucinations filling blanks, but working with correct information.
06 Limited Beta, Only 20 Spots Left
ContextSync is in beta, spots are limited, only 20 available.
Its core capability is simple: Ensure AI always has complete context, no more “guessing” answers.
Your architecture decisions, code style, project preferences, automatically synced to all tools.
AI sees the complete project picture, not fragments.
Limited time offer, currently only 20 spots left.
Beta benefit: Join the beta and raise your usage questions, get one month of Pro version (worth $9).
If you’re also fed up with AI “confidently giving wrong answers.”
If you also want AI to truly understand your project, not “pretend to understand.”
